Co Tech Task 3 - Video Produktion

A part of the CoTech project is to produce an educational video.
The initial point is to take one of the already existing videos and based on our choice produce our own video. The tasks includes that we are reflecting over the other video by pointing out the good and the negative parts of this production. On the other hand should the video suit to educational lesson.
We decided to reflect over the video about “adjectives and degree of comparison” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaecFKRLTOA&feature=player_embedded).
The video demonstrates that the producers have put a lot of effort in preparing the setting, in ordering the structure and in writing the dialogs and histories. The fact that the used adjectives are written in the video shows the focus on the topic of the educational video.
In some parts of the video it is a bit difficult to follow the dialogs and histories because of talking a bit too fast and unclearly.
One other thing we observed is that the relation between the content and the way it is presented not is adequate. We don´t think it is appropriate to explain difficult adjectives like savage and grumpy with for example Winnie the Pooh. These adjectives are rather for kids in the age of 10, while the setting up reminds more of 1.grade students. Expressed in other words, the presentation of the adjectives is too childish I comparison to the difficulty of the chosen adjectives.
For our own video we want to point out this contradiction by explaining a difficult mathematics formula by using items for small children.
By speaking directly to the audience, in this case the children, we want to build a relation to an educational situation.

Information on the author...

I am 31 years old. I live in a small town called Tumboel, near Aabenraa, in the southern part of Jutland in Denmark together with my lovely wife and our 2 adorable foster children. Our house is located in the country near a swomp, which gives us a magnificent nature just outside the door. I will gather some pictures of this later on. We also have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a horse, which my wife loves to ride.

After graduating from business school in 2000, I worked several places with children with special needs. Then in 2004 my wife and I started a gift shop. This was a dream of ours since way back. Along with the shop I worked some years as a technical key account manager, working with foam and rubber solutions within damping of sound, sealings, packaging etc. This job was really exciting, but took overhand in terms of travellingdays abroad from home. Therefor I took the descision of quitting my job to become a full time foster parrent as my wife and work from home. After a year at home I decided to live out a well known dream of taking the education to become a teacher... Until now the education is all I wished for. I am looking forward spending the next 4 years becoming wise and explore the world of teaching.

In my sparetime (not much at the moment) I live out my great passion of playing and teaching music, mostly drums and percussion. Right now I am a freelance-teacher or drummer at the following bands/schools : http://www.graasten-garden.dk/ - http://www.sonderborggarden.dk/ - http://www.spad.dk/ - http://www.sonderborgmusikskole.dk/ - http://www.gospelchoir.dk/ - http://www.bfbo.dk/ - http://www.haderslev-garden.dk/ - http://www.borderland.dk/ -   You are welcome to take a look on my personal website >> http://www.dandrum.dk/ <<

Welcome to the blog.

I look very much forward working in this project, and hope to meet and exchange knowledge with many of you readers through out the time.

Feel free to drop me line of comment or just some words to inspire..
